About Us

Renowned spiritual master Pujya Swami Chinmayananda believed in holistic education by which the best of the Indian wisdom and contemporary system of education can be integrated. This, he ascertained, was the right means to manifest the inherent divinity in man. For, it is knowledge that empowers, knowledge that elevates and knowledge alone that liberates man.

At Chinmaya Education Foundation we are taking this vision forward, as we believe that education has the power to refine, beautify and transform us to levels we never knew were possible. We will fund dynamic organisations who are making bold attempts to create a system of education which integrates the best of timeless wisdom and modern thought. As well as ones which reignite ennobling attitudes that make a discernible difference in how we think and act in this world.

For the immediate future, we have selected Chinmaya Vishvavidyapeeth (CVV) in Kerala, India as our focus for all fund raising and giving. Few higher level educational institutions prepare tomorrow’s leaders to face today’s challenges. CVV is different. It takes a holistic approach to university education, one that truly prepares our future leaders to go beyond their normal limits, deep within to understand and tackle the most complex challenges and trials that we face. By combining disciplines both enduring and cutting edge, CVV graduates lead with holistic thinking and vision.

From time-to-time, and based on need, we will expand our funding themes to include the areas listed below:

  •  Support health care initiatives targeting underserved communities
  • Relief for victims of natural disasters
  • Preservation of Indian culture and heritage
  • Upliftment and rehabilitation of those below the poverty line

Chinmaya Education Foundation, Inc. (CEF) is a 501C3 non-profit registered in Michigan. CEF will constantly strive to partner with individual donors and foundations to raise funds for the following purposes:
